Sleep Cycle v0.1

So I’ve decided to make an interactive display that adjusts to the proximity of the viewer. As the viewer gets closer information will start to fall away revealing deeper information. I’ve posted 3 stills illustrating how it might work.

  1. I’m interested to know where you see this interactive display existing? And also, is it a “smart” display, reading the viewer’s movements as he/she gets closer?

  2. YO!

On visuals, your last poster is reading funny, the first time I read it I read “…Bedroom for sleeping only, Relaxing pre-bed routine Can all cause problems with your sleep cycle” because the first part of the orange is f it. I do not think this is what you’re intending. I think that you just need to play around a little with your placement of these words.

I am wondering what this has to do with authenticity/community. As far as the symposium goes, I am confused as to where you would want this to be placed. Overall, I think the aesthetics are interesting but perhaps I just need more of an explanation?

    Yup! Have a good day.

  3. where does this live?
    and
i’m wondering why proximity=reveal of information?
should the viewer have to work at it to understand it (a dig of sorts) or should it all become clear simply as the user approaches. these dif. interface behaviors would seem to suggest very different types of experiences of dealing with complex info.

  4. what is your understanding of deeper information? your images seem to suggest that there is an equality between deeper information and the viewers distance from the artifact. as if the viewer, in their approach, is wading through information to find the desired facts. this direction certainly addresses navigating through complex information, but as your images are, the complexity is in layering and not the presentation of tons of textual and visual information. also, i think addressing time in such an exploration is critical when talking about hyperattention. how fast is the information dropping off, staying on screen, etc…?

  5.
Sidney,

Can the viewer get back information by backing away.

Is it responding at the same pace as the human?

What is that thing in the back ground. Is that my heart rate? Is it the stock market?

Is that the brainwave of the smart display? Where is the info coming from, and as has been asked, where would I encounter this display?

How much control can I have over this?

Most of these are practical questions. Maybe a non-practical question, what about authenticity? What is the intersection for you?

  6. По моему мнению Вы допускаете ошибку. Предлагаю это обсудить. Пишите мне в PM, поговорим….
